Hello,

I am Yoshida, Fire Chief of the Tokyo Fire Department and President of the International Fire Chiefs Association of Asia.

As the 33rd IFCAA General Conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 22, 2024, I would like to extend my greetings to IFCAA members and all those involved in fire and disaster management in Asia-Oceania region, as well as all over the world.

This is the first IFCAA General Conference to be held in Malaysia in 24 years, since 2000. I would like to appreciate the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, the hosting fire department, for their dedications to the conference preparations.

It is of great importance that fire chiefs and fire and disaster management professionals from various countries in Asia and Oceania are gathering together to share expertise and exchange information on common issues through various meetings under the theme of “Enhancing the Capacity”. I am convinced that it will greatly contribute to the further development of fire administration and improvement of on-scene professionalisms.

I sincerely hope that IFCAA members and many other fire safety professionals will get together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
