Prior to his current appointment as a Senior Assistant Director (Community Preparedness Branch) in Volunteer and Community Partnership Department, LTC Abdullah has held several key appointments such as the Head of a Community Engagement Branch, that oversaw the implementation of public education programmes that equip the community with basic lifesaving skills. He was also the Commander of Tuas Fire Station, a fire station that provides operational response to emergencies at the western part of Singapore which involves predominantly industrial premises.
In his 15-year service, he has been exposed to numerous incidents involving major fires, industrial accidents as well as Hazmat incidents. Based on his expertise, he was also involved in an overseas consultancy project (Qatar) that recommended significant improvements to expand the efficiency of emergency response processes and administrative workflows. In his present post, he is tasked to oversee several projects and policies that aim to enhance the knowledge and level of preparedness within the community to respond to minor emergencies such as cardiac arrest cases.

Jim Pauley is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), a global self-funded nonprofit organization devoted to eliminating death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards. The association began its work to solve the fire problem in a young, industrialized nation in 1896 and is recognized around the globe today as a leader in advocating for safety. NFPA delivers information and knowledge through more than 325 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach, and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission.
Prior to joining NFPA, Mr. Pauley concluded a 30-year career in the electrical and energy industry where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Government Relations for Schneider Electric.
Mr. Pauley has served in several past leadership positions including Chairman of the Board for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kentucky and was a licensed professional engineer in Kentucky.
Rob Llewellyn has 50 years’ experience as a fire safety practitioner and although recently retired, he is still active in the industry.
He remains a member of several Australian Standards committees, the International Fire Safety Standards Coalition and represents Australia on the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations International.
Rob is Chairman of the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Asia whose members are from China, China Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Iran, Israel and Pakistan.
Rob was a Board member of the Australian Fire Protection Association from 1988 to 1996, elected to the newly formed Fire Protection Association Australia Board in 1997, then elected as the third National President in 2000. Rob was made an Honorary Life Member of the association in 2005 and retired from the Board in 2013.
Began working with the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department since 2003 and was assigned to the Air Unit of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department. Experience serving in various branches including Aircraft Engineering Branch, Air Base Executive Officer, and Base Training Officer. Assigned as Air Division Training Officer from 2016 to 2019.
Working as the Head of the Special Tasks Unit at the Fire and Rescue Operations Division, JBPM Headquarters from 2019 to 2023.
From 2023 until now, stationed at the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) as Senior Principal Assistant Director (Operation).
Member of various national and international level committees, including ASEAN Joint Disaster Response Plan (AJDRP) Working Group under the management of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance (AHA) Centre.
